Mrs. Elizabeth (Miller) Stahly, 95, died Saturday at the Daniel I. Stahly home, northeast of Nappanee, where she had made her home 8 1/2 years. She had been an invalid 7 years. She was born Jan. 29 1851, in Holmes County, Ohio, the daughter of The Rev. and Mrs. Eli(Mary Kauffman) Miller. Her marriage to Simon Stahly took place Feb. 17, 1881, in Elkhart county. Mr. Stahly died Sept. 18, 1937, in Nappanee. Mrs. Stahly is survived by 2 step-children, Daniel I. Stahly, Nappanee, and Mrs; Simon Albrecht, Sycamore, Ill; one brother, Harvey E. Miller, Goshen, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Mary Holt, Portland, Ore, and Mrs. Malinda Schrick, Sugar Creek, Ohio. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the Daniel Stahly home with Rev, Jacob Enz, Pastor of the First Mennonite church officiating, Burial in Union Center cemetery. Mrs. Stahly had been a member of the Nappanee Main Street Mennonite church.------Wakarusa Tribune 22 August 1946.
