Mrs. Jones died, at her home. Mrs. Jones was born in the Silerton Community, Hardeman County, the daughter of William Arthur and Erfie Surls Childress. She grew up in the Pope Community of Madison County, graduating from Pope High School in 1941. She was a homemaker and a member of Pinson Baptist Church for 50 years where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the Madison County Farm Bureau.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Homer Ray Jones; children, Billy Ray Jones (Becky), Brenda Tedford (Jimmy), John William Jones (Linda), all of Pinson, TN and George Harris Jones (Kathy) of Medon, TN; 10 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. She also leaves her sisters, Mildred Roe (J.C.) and Betty Rowell (Bill) of Jackson, TN and brothers, Ray Childress (Martha Ann) of Pinson, TN and Thomas Earl Childress (Janet) of San Antonio, TX.

Pallbearers to serve will be Scott Jones, J. P. Jones, Josh Jones, Brandon Blankenship, Bo Cupples, and Matt Tedford. Honorary Pallbearers are Lawrence Jones, Ronnie Roe, John Franklin Wigington, David Armour, Marvin Meadows, and James Williams.

Mrs. Jones always helped her husband with the strawberry operation on their farm at Pinson. They considered the Madison County Farm Bureau as extended family, having been members for many years. Mrs. Jones was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to sing and she loved flower gardening.
