Samuel Burton Alley, 87, of 7 Second St. S.W. died yesterday morning in a Wytheville Hospital.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Troy Lundy and Mrs. Albert Dowdy both of Pulaski, Mrs. Kirby Clark, Jacksonville, N.C., Mrs. Cling King, Woodlawn, Mrs. Walter Fender, Okilnawa; three sons, Swanson Alley, Pulaski, Everett Alley, Concord, N.C., Walter Alley, Woodlawn; two brothers, Jim Alley, Elk Creek, Tom Alley, Woodlawn; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral will be Thursday at 2pm from Pleasant View Church, Carroll County, conducted by the Rev. Raymond Carpenter, the Rev. Sam Barnes, the Rev. Henry Elderidge and the Rev. Marvin Porter. Burial will be in Pickett Cemetery.
The body will remain at Strickler's Funeral Home until one hour before the service.
