Carl G. Haldiman, 96, of Warrensburg, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at the Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Carl Godfrey Haldiman was born Dec. 8, 1912, in Jamestown, the son of Rudolph L. and Emma Louise Lehman Haldiman. He graduated from Central Missouri State University in 1940, received a master's degree from Washington University in 1951 and a doctor's degree from the University of Missouri in 1960. He was a principal and taught elementary, high school and college during his 40-year career, prior to retiring in 1978. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa and a life member of the National Education Association.

Carl served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1944.

He married Helen Wilmore in 1941. He was preceded in death by Helen and a son, Terry Carl Haldiman.

In 1982, he married Christine Ronemous. Christine also preceded him in death.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was active on the board and as a trustee for many years. Carl was also active with the Boy Scouts from 1960 to 1970 and the American Red Cross board from 1979 to 1994.

Carl leaves a son, Burnell Craig Haldiman and his wife, Connie Pretz Haldiman, of Overland Park, Kan.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the First United Methodist Church in Warrensburg, with the Rev. Dr. Sally Haynes officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg.

Pallbearers will be David, Paul and Don Jungmeyer, Joe, Chris and Rudy Haldiman.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service, Saturday at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
