Thief River Falls - Olga Oswald, 94, died Thursday, January 7, 1999 at the CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 10 at the Evangelical Free Church in Thief River Falls with Reverend Dillmond Lewis officiating. Carolyn Trontvet was the organist. Vocal music was provided by Carolyn and Ron Trontvet and Don Wahlbeck. Casketbearers were Scott Kjellberg, Randy Twistol, John Carlson, Bob Fenno, Darrin Abernathey and Bill Wightman. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Olga Marie Larson was born on April 28, 1904 in Warren, the daughter of Oscar and Marie (Melin) Larson. She was baptized in the Christian faith. Olga attended a country school near Alvarado and worked with her family on the farm.

On December 15, 1928 she was united in marriage to Sam Oswald in Duluth. After farming at Warren for eight years, the couple moved to Rosewood in 1941. In 1973 Olga and Sam moved to Thief River Falls. After Sam died on December 15, 1976, Olga continued to live in Thief River Falls. For the past six years she was a resident of the CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center.

She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially enjoyed reading and baking.

Olga is survived by two daughters, Arlyce (Rodney) Twistol and Ardelle Kjellberg, both of Thief River Falls; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son; one daughter; five brothers, Algot, Axel, Willie, Hilbert and Elmer; three sisters, Anna Larson, Alma Hill and Ida Ostrand; and one son-in-law, Jack Kjellberg.
