FORT WAYNE — James W. Music, 66, 350 Harrison St., Lagro, died at 10:04 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at Parkview Hospital.
He was born on March 14, 1937, in Paintsville, Ky., to Shade and Sara Alice (Stanford) Music. He married Patricia A. Chaplin in 1957. She died in 1981. He then married Betty Carr, who died in 1991. He married Parthena Marshall on March 21, 1991. She survives.
He was employed at the Wabash Valley Saw Mill, Treaty. He was a former member of the Grand Street Baptist Church.
Also surviving are a son, James W. (Brenda) Music Jr., Wabash; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Kimberly) Buzbee, Wabash, and Mrs. Brett (Lee Ann) Irving, Middlebury; two adopted daughters, Mrs. Jake (Tiffany) Taylor, Wabash, and Tonya Mae Music, Lagro; five stepsons, including Donald A. (Pam) Shepherd, Rochester, and Roy L. (Stacy) Shepherd, North Manchester; seven stepdaughters, including Patricia Williams, Silver Lake, Brenda Jackson, Kentucky, and Mrs. David (Kimberly) Hall, LaFontaine; five brothers, Sam Music, Shade (Sally) Music Jr., and Walker (Rose) Music, all of Lagro, Newt (Virginia) Music, Paintsville, Ky., and Ray (Peggy) Music, Sandy Beach; three sisters, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Shepherd, Mrs. James (Edith) Fletcher and Mrs. Donny (Dixie) Ward, all of Wabash; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 22 stepgrandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren. One daughter and one brother are deceased.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the South Side Church of God. The Rev. Ralph Johnson and Worlie Newsome will officiate. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the McDonald Funeral Home Eddingfield Chapel.
Preferred memorials are to the American Heart Association.
