Robert G. "Dusty" Rhodes, 62, of Warrensburg passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2009 at the Western Missouri Medical Center.

He was born on April 21, 1947 in St. Charles, Mo., the son of Robert B. and Anna Jo VanBuskirk Rhodes.

He married Barbara Harrod on May 29, 1971 in St. Louis, Mo.

Robert graduated from Ritenour High School in Overland, Mo., and received his master's degree from the University of Central Missouri.

He worked as a teacher and wrestling coach at Knob Noster High School for 13 years and was the registrar at the University of Central Missouri for 21 years. He also served in the United States Army.

Robert is survived by his mother, Anna Jo Rhodes of Woodson Terrace, Mo.; wife, Barbara of the home; three sons, Jason Rhodes and partner Jodi Groteboer of Portland, Ore., Joshua Rhodes and wife, Jessica, and Jed Rhodes, all of Warrensburg; four sisters, Sharon Rice of Mexico, Mo., Sheryl Lowery of Overland, Mo., Margaret Voisey of Saint Peters, Mo., and Mary Beth Stevens of Bridgeton, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his father, and one brother, Thomas Rhodes.

A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the White Rose Pavilion, 107 Ming St., Warrensburg with Pastor Joel Kurz officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Trails Regional Library or Lions Lake Initiative and may be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home, Warrensburg.
