Lewgene was born Dec. 17, 1928 in Caldwell, Idaho. She was raised around Notus. She married Claude Newell in Salt Lake City, Utah on Sept. 5, 1953 while attending Railroad Telegraphy School. Lewgene and Claude moved to many places in the next few years including Lowman, Idaho, Roseburg, Ore., Cinnabar and Yellowstone, Idaho, and finally moving to Sweet, Idaho in the fall of 1959 making this "Home" for Momma. Lewgene always made fond and loving memories from each place she lived and called home. Cinnabar and Yellowstone brought a certain gleam to her eyes that always showed us of the love and happiness she shared with her sons and husband. She experienced extreme hard conditions, but always showed forth a lot of love. Sweet provided a home for her to welcome children and friends of all ages for her to love. Her family wants everyone to remember that this wonderful woman has suffered and struggled through these years, because of her ability to love her family and friends that was her Life - Loving People. But now she is no longer in pain, no more suffering. She is now with her loved one who have gone before.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Claude Newell of Sweet; two sons, Dave and Carol Newell and Blake and Beth Newell of Boise; daughter Carrie and Robin of Sweet; her grandchildren, Sean and Tia Newell, Mike Newell, Nicole and Don Newell May, Angel Newell, Clayton Newell, Miranda Newell; her great grandchildren, Caitlin and Matthew May and Tyrus Newell; two sisters Norva Newman and Ila Fleming; one brother Lynnard Bittick; nephews, Rod, Will, Charlie, Bobby, Kenny, Justin, Brian, Dan, Dallas, and Darren; nieces, Marty, Shannon, Sherry, Tammy, Wendy, Tina, Mary and Molly.
