He was a graduate of Anderson High School. He enjoyed outdoor outings and trained and raised dogs. He also farmed and raised chickens.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary Jane Rogers of the home; his son, James Darren "Buck" Rogers and wife Louise; his brother, Jimmy Rogers; his sister, Madeline Hall, all of the Splitlog community.
A memorial serice will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Banner Nazarene Church in Goodman. The Rev. Bill Hess will officiate.
