Our beloved "Billie" Norman Supervisor of Youth for our Church was called home to his eternal reward while visiting his family in Chicago on August 31, 1944. It is impossible to express how greatly he was beloved by us all or to tell of the great work that God accomplished through him while he was among us. The memory of his warm, friendly personality, his cordial greetings, and his cheery laughter echoing through our halls will always be cherished. He came to Southern California in 1936 and united with our church. Soon after he became the teacher of the El Te Kon Class and the miracle of his Christ like way of getting things done was soon discovered. Before long he became the Supervisor of Youth Activities in our church and from then to the present moment his personality has been felt in every part of the church. The development of our Boys' Clubs and Girls' Guilds, the fine spirit among the young people of B.Y. and Bible Conference Camps, the development of a Wednesday night program including prayer meeting where youth attended by the hundreds, every department from the Cradle Roll to the oldest of our adult classes, felt the magic spell of his leadership during these years. Our love any sympathy reach out to Mrs. Norman who is with the children in Chicago. The Memorial Service planned for today will give us an opportunity in some small way to express the great love and appreciation that is in our hearts and thank God for Dr. Norman's life among us.
