Capulin resident Carmen Patricia Martinez, 49, passed away Dec. 17, 2009. Carmen was born Aug. 29, 1960 in Denver the daughter of Bernardo Alberto Trujillo and Orlinda Maria Jaramillo Trujillo. Carmen worked for the Monte Vista Housing Authority as an office assistant.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping, gambling, traveling, camping, helping others in the community and especially being with her family.

Survivors include her parents Bernie and Orlinda Trujillo Jr. of Capulin; one daughter Neomi T. Martinez of Alamosa; one son Tommy James Martinez of Alamosa; one grandson Patrick Esparsen of Capulin; three sisters Monica (Jim) Aragon of Alamosa, Sulema (Robert) Aragon of Denver an Lisa (Jeff) Maestas of Alamosa; three brothers Danny (Dona) Trujillo of Oklahoma City, Okla., Randell (Louisa) Trujillo of Capulin and Jose Trujillo of Denver as well as by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carmen was preceded in death by her brother Bernie "Pepo" Trujillo III, grandparents Bernie and Sulema Trujillo and Tomas and Veronica Jaramillo.

A vigil service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held Tue., Dec. 22, 2009 at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Church in Capulin. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Capulin Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1 until 5 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home in Alamosa who is in care of the arrangements.
