Meeks died Monday May2, 1988 at St. John's Hospital in Joplin Mo. after a long battle with cancer, at the age of 58.
He was born May 31,1929 in Eureka Springs. To Hal Meeks Sr. and Ruth Marie French Meeks.
He was a resident of Grove for two years, coming from Noel, Mo. and Bentonville. He was a mechanic and had been employed by Blevins Motor Co. in Rogers and Noel Mo. He had professed his faith in Christ.
Survivors are his wife, Juanita Meeks of the home, five sons: David Meeks of Grove, Robert Meeks of Sacramento, Calif. Richard Hayes of Pineville, Mo. Johnny Rice of Rogers, and Raymond Upchurch of Bentonville, two daughters Brenda Meeks of Bentonville and Celia Thompson of Bentonville. his Mother Ruth Meeks of Bentonville three brothers: Charlie Meeks of Salinas, Calif. Bob Meeks and Dean Meeks of Bentonville; one sister Bonnie White of Jane, Mo. and 15 grandchildren.
Interment was in the Pea Ridge Cemetery under the direction of the Burns Funeral Home in Bentonville.
