On May 17, 1946 Dewey married Agnes Pauline Pelphrey in Johnson Co., Kentucky.∼Gordon VanHoose, 80, of Volga, died Sunday Sep.23 2001 in Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mr. VanHoose was born Dec. 23, 1920, in Manilla, a son of the late Dewey and Mary Louise Castle VanHoose.
He was a World War II Army veteran and owner of Trading Post in Staffordsville.
Surviving are his wife, Agnes VanHoose; two sons, Eddie VanHoose of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Greg VanHoose of Staffordsville; a daughter, Kimberly Tackett of Staffordsville; two sisters, Viola Virginia Phillips of Fort Myers, Fla., and Lenore Diffee of Winchester; and
a grandchild.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Paintsville Funeral Home by the Rev. Tobe Wheeler. Burial will be in Johnson County Memorial.
Friends may call today and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
