John was the son of James F. & Francis "Frankie" Mosley Hicks, he married Elizabeth Gunnell. John A. is buried in the East Gate Memorial Gardens at Eastern, Floyd Co., Ky.. You can see the cemetery from the James A. Duff Elementary School parking lot. The cemetery has had other names over the years, and I have heard it called The Union, Miners and the Allen Cemetery.
