Services for Charles Clay Magee who died at the hospital in Greenville Sunday morning following several months illness were held Monday afternoon January 13th, at 2:00 P. M. at the Second Baptist Church in Indianola with the Rev. Robert Tucker officiating. Burial followed in the City cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home in charge of arrangments. He was 63.

Mr. Magee was born in Prentiss, Mississippi and had been a resident of Sunflower County for fifteen years. He received his education at Mississippi College at Clinton, and New Orleans Baptist Theoligical Seminary. He had held pastorates at Oakland, Wayside and at the time of his death was pastor of the Holly Grove Baptist Church at Holly Ridge, Mississippi. He was a Baptist, a Mason and a Shriner.

He leaves his wife Lourah Embry Magee of Indianola; 2 daughters, Miss Ada C. Magee of Kansas City, Missouri, Mrs. Tom Crawford of Memphis; one son Charles Clay Magee Jr., of Mississippi Delta Junior College; two brothers, Joe Magee of Hattiesburg and James W. Magee of New York City; two sisters Miss Carrie Magee and Miss Mary Magee of New Hebron, Mississippi.
