Raymond J. Burroughs THE VILLAGES, FL - Raymond J. Burroughs (Mr. Transplant), 81, of Havre de Grace, MD, and formerly of Hamilton Township, NJ, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at the Cornerstone Hospice at The Villages in Florida. Born in Trenton, NJ, Mr. Burroughs resided in New Jersey, Florida, and Maryland. Mr. Burroughs served in the NJ National Guard and was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from General Motors Corp., was past president of the Groveville Senior Citizens Club, a member of both Team Philadelphia and Team Maryland at the US Transplant Olympics, and a charter member of the Men's Auxiliary of VFW Post 8126, Havre de Grace, MD. Son of the late Russell and Goldie L. Miller Burroughs, and husband of the late Mary J. Jeannette Burroughs, he is survived by his sons and their wives, Raymond A. and Michele Burroughs of Davenport, FL, and Thomas M. and Tracey Burroughs of Havre de Grace, MD; five grandchildren, Lisa, Joseph, and Andrew Burroughs of Florida, and Krystal and Raymond Burroughs of Maryland; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Anthony and Clara Jeannette, and Anthony and Jackie Santaniello, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Brenna Funeral Home, 340 Hamilton Ave., Trenton. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m., and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Brenna Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the National Kidney Foundation, Inc., 30 E. 33rd St., New York, NY 10016, (800) 622-9010.
