The Sudden death of Mrs. Martha Magdalene Spitler, wife of Elder Doc. Spitler, at her husband's home, near Stanley, this county, on Tuesday morning of this week, was a great shock, not only to her immediate family, but to the community in which she lived.
She retired as well as usual the night before and her death occurred sometime during the night, no one knows when, as her husband on awakening about 4 o'clock found her dead by his side in bed.
Mrs. Spitler was 31 years of age last March and had been subject to swooning spells since early in life.
Buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery-Luray, Va.
