DIED

At the residence of her son, Samuel, in Fallowfield Twp., Mrs. Susan West Beazell, wife of William Beazell, in her 84th year, congestion of the lungs. Funeral on Friday, 06th October, at ten o'clock. Interment in Maple Creek Cemetery (nr. Lover, Washington Co. Pa.)

IN MEMORIAM:

At three o'clock on the morning of 04th. Oct, 1893, Susan West Beazell passed peacefully away from earth. She had been an invalid for a number of years, but bore her sufferings with fortitude. She was the daughter of Samuel and Eunice (Carroll) West, and was the last of a family of nine daughters: She was born at the West Homestead in Fallowfield Township, 26th February 1810 and was married to William Beazell on the 6th of May 1830, by Rev. James Sampson, the noted Methodist Divine; and of all who attended their wedding nearly sixty four years ago, none are left except her aged companion, now in his eighty-seventh year, and his sister, Mrs. Catherine Ailes of California, Pa. The deceased was a member of the Baptist Church having joined that church at Horseshoes nearly fifty years ago, under the preaching of Rev. Isaac Winn. Of her sisters all grew to womenhood and married. Mary the eldest married Luke Fry, Elizabeth married Elisha Greenlee, Anna married Thomas Frye, Jane married Cary Carroll, Elmira married Daniel Burgan, Margaret married William Jones.

Eight children are left to mourn a mother's loss; five sons and three daughters, two sons have preceded her to the spirit land, James Sansom who died in childhood, and Leander N. who died in November 1886.

The funeral was conducted by Rev's. Marsh and McCaslin, at her home in Fallowfield Township on Friday 6th October, and we laid her peacefully to rest in the silent but beautiful city of the dead at Carson's Cemetery (now known as Maple Creek), in the hope that we may met her again in that- "Beautiful land, The far away home of the soul, Where no storms ever beat on the glittering strand while the years of Eternity roll."
