His brothers were Lill Holmes 1879–1917, James Nicholas Holmes 1870–1943, Arthur Kage Holmes 1873–1956, Micajah Holmes 1870-1880 and sisters Sarah Webb/Kendrick 1880-1953, Belle Brickey 1880-1919 and Elizabeth Bettie Hicks 1869-1918. William Harvey Holmes was a former Bus Employee of 615 24th St., died at 11:40 p.m. Sunday at King's Daughter's Hospital following an extended illness. Born June 17, 1876, in Smith County, Va., he was the son of the late George and Melinda Holmes. He was a former employee of the Watson Hardware Co., and a retired Blue Ribbon Bus Lines employee. He had resided in Ashland since 1912, and was a member of the First Baptist Church, and the BPO Elks Lodge, No. 350. Wife, Mrs. Lucy Walker Holmes; one daughter, Mrs. Anna Louise Wunder of New Carlisle, O.; two sons, Thomas W. Holmes of Studio City, Calif., and Harry W. Holmes of Ashland, Ky.
