Age 85. Son of Sylvester Vorhis and Mary Mallissa Criss Vorhis. Longtime Lincoln County farmer died at his home southwest of Chandler, OK. The funeral memorial states interment in "Christy Cemetery". Star Valley Cemetery has at times been referred to as Christy Cemetery. He came to Oklahoma in 1896, when he was 18 years old, and stayed for seven months. He then returned to Iowa "to find him a cook." On Feb. 28, 1906 he married Dortha May Bollman in Pulaski, Davis County, Iowa; They moved to Lincoln County in 1907 settling near Meeker. Later they moved to Star Valley community southwest of Chandler where they had resided since that time. Survivors include his wife and five daughters: Alma Stewart, Davis, OK, Ethel Hopkins, Oklahoma City, OK, Phine Ramsey, Owasso, OK, Leona May Dillon, Oklahoma City, OK and Violet Bouska, Blackwell, OK; brother Vivian V. Vorhis of MO; sister, Eve Marshall of California; 40 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by daughter Edith Stanton of Oregon in 1957;
