Nathan was one of the Superintendents of Construction on the Great Mormon Temple in Utah, as well as a gifted cabinet maker and champion checkers player. He also worked on the dangerous Railroad as a Brakeman where he stood on top of the moving wooden cars to turn the brake handles.
