Charles Henry Soble, 75, a Hanover Park resident for 40 years, died Thursday, October 19, 2000 at St. Alexius Hospital, Hoffman Estates.
    He was born June 3, 1925 in Chicago.
    He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, founder of the "I AM AN AMERICAN" Parade in Hanover Park, was a member of the Wauconda Post #911 American Legion, Voiture 40/8, Marine Corps League, Past Squadron Commander Sons of the AmericanLegion, Past President of the Hanover Park Lions Club, member of Elgin VFW Post 1307, AMVETS and past Board member of Hanover Park HistoricalSociety.
    He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Virginia (nee Gioe); his children, Thomas (Barbara) of Pell Lake, WI and Cheryl (Lane) Patel of Elgin; seven grandchildren, Kathleen, Thomas Edward, Peter Anthony, Audrie, Charles Vincent,Kimberly and Joseph; a great granddaughter, Tamra; a sister, Lillian (Elmer) Massonie; a brother, Harold (the late Irene) Soble; a brother-in-law to, David (Frances) Gioe, Palma Bogo and Peter (Wanda) Gioe; and many loving nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be at 11 AM Monday, October 23, 2000 in the Countryside Funeral Home, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd (at Barrington Rd), Streamwood/Schaumburg. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin, IL.
    Visitation will be from 3 to 9 PM Sunday in the Countryside Funeral Home.
