Kevin Charles Walker, U.S. Navy, Retired; was the son of Kenneth John and Dolores Fay Mosteller Walker. His older brother, Stephen Kent Walker, sister-in-law Micheal Sheron Johnson Walker, his nieces Michelle Chaffin and Anna Chaffin Castor, his aunt, Sharon Diane Rogers Velardez and his cousins Denise Larkin Parvis and Shannon Lee survive him.
He joined the U.S. Army after graduation from North High School, Torrance, CA, Class of '74. He became a Cannoneer (13B) and after reenlisting for 11C/Airborne school., he injured his leg on a jump. He was given an option, a discharge or go back to being a 13B. Well, 9 months later he enlisted in the U.S. Navy (only because the Marine recruiter went to lunch and the Navy recruiter was minding the store) where he spent 12-1/2 more years, for a total of 16-1/2 years of service to his country.
He was with the Navy detachment in Beirut that helped recover the bodies of the Marines and Army personnel that died in the barracks bombing.
He retired with a medical discharge due to a service-incurred disablity from the 1st Gulf War.
