GLENMOOR – Devoted mother, grandmother and friend KAY RUSSELL, of Cannons Mill Road, East Liverpool, passed away following a sudden illness at 1:57 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Heritage Valley, Beaver.
She was 67.

Born in Tucumcari, New Mexico on February 24, 1943, she was the only child of Evelyn Cunningham Snyder Popp of Lisbon and the late Art Snyder. After her father passed away at a young age, Kay was raised by her mother and stepfather, Robert F. Popp, who preceded her in death on February 4, 1993.

Kay had spent her lifetime in this area, where she was a member of the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church. She had been a teller and later became the head bookkeeper at the former Potters Savings and Loan (currently Home Savings), retiring in 1996 after 35 years of service.

In addition to her father and stepfather, Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Jim L. Russell, who died on March 3, 2000. They had been married on April 4, 1964.

Kay is survived by her two daughters, Beth and her husband, Terry, and Julie and her husband, Brian.

There are five grandchildren whom she cherished: Zack, Andrea and Jordan and Lexi and Melina.

Kay also leaves behind her two dear friends, Carol and Linda.

Friends may call at the Dawson Funeral Home, where the family will be present to receive friends from 2 until 8 p.m. Thursday.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Friday, with Rev. Dr. Vel Vais of the church officiating.

Burial will take place at Calcutta United Presbyterian Cemetery, followed by a continued time of fellowship at the Dawson Family Center.
