He was former owner and operator of Ridgeway Quick Shop on Sandy Ridge.
He was the son of the late Slemp Arms and Georgia Virginia Arms; also preceded in death by his wife Anna (Hollen) Armes.
He is survived by daughter, Tara Armes Hughes, Coeburn; three sons, Jason Armes, McClure, David Armes, Coeburn, and Shawn Armes, Kansas City, KS; two sisters, Janice Pauline Jessee, Orlando, FL and Lottie Jean Mullins, Coeburn; 8 grandchildren, several nieces an nephews.
Funeral services for Slemp Donald Armes will be held on Friday June 4, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Mullins officiating. Entombment will follow at the Armes Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 3, 2010 after 6:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, Coeburn, VA.
