Born in Chicago, Illinois Sharon Elizabeth McDermott-Benz was the third child of Alice Wilma (Maggie) McDermott and Francis Paul McDermott. She is the granddaughter of Annie Johnston and James Francis McDermott and Idella Smith Davis and William Lee Page.
