John Patrick Kelly, 79, a retired Hancock County farmer, died Saturday at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield, after a one-day illness.
He was born Aug 10,1890, the son of William and Catherine Kelly. Mr. Kelly was reared near McCordsville, coming to Ingalls twelve years ago.
He was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Fortville.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Eileen Thomas and Mrs. Connie Hudson of Fortville, and Mrs. Kathryn O'Neal of Chesterfield; one son, Robert Kelly at Anderson; a brother, T.J. Kelly of McCordsville; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Seals Funeral Home in Fortville after 3 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited in the Seals Chapel at 8 o'clock tonight.
Services will be held in the St. Thomas Catholic Church Monday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Father Matthew Herold officiating. Interment will be in the Gravel Lawn Cemetery near Fortville.
John & May divorced sometime before 1940; neither remarried.
