Mrs. America Smith Gann, 50, wife of J. Mood Gann of Ponder died at 8:40 pm Tuesday in the Gann home.
The body was held in the Schmitz Funeral Home, pending arrival of relations for making funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Gann was a native Texan born in Richardson, October 3, 1890. She had lived in this county 48 years and was married to Gann in 1913 in Ponder. She was a member of the Methodist Church and of the Friendly Club in Ponder. She received her education in Stony and in Teachers College.
Surviving are her husband: seven sons; John of Wichita, Kansas, Houston of Robert E. Lee, Berk of Wichita Falls, Mood, Jr. and George in the U. S. Army, Peddy and Newton of Ponder: three sisters; Mmes. J. M. Ball of Marysville, California; J. M. Hayes of Roanoke and C. Hood of Dallas and two brothers; W. J. Smith of Midland and G. B. Smith of Ponder.
