Services for Edna G. Gruber, 88, Canton, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Davis Funeral Home in Canton. The Rev. Melvin Mobbs will be in charge. Burial will be in the Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton. Mrs. Gruber died 12:30 a.m. Thursday at her house. She was born Dec. 16, 1890 in Winchester, Mo., the daughter of George and Ella Mae Harris Goodwin. She married Tom Gruber on Sept. 25, 1912 in Kahoka, Mo. He survives. Other survivors include one son, Bob Gruber, Morrison, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Risk, Keokuk, Iowa; Mrs. Ziltha Shatzer and Mrs. Jo Brown, both of Canton; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Bash, of the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gruber was one of the oldest members of the Sentinary Methodist Church near Canton. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed in the Canton High School cafeteria. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today and will contiue Saturday morning until time of services at the funeral home.
