The son of George and Katherine Hexamer of Anderson, Indiana.

George gradyuated from St. Mary's High School in 1952.

Upon graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. It was during his first assignment to RAF Cranage in England that he met and married his wife of 54 years, Maureen Wakefield. George also served in duty stations of RAF Wethersfield, England; Forbes AFB, Kansas; Ubon, Thailand; Mountain Home, Idaho,; Berlin, Germany and retired at Grissom Air Force Base, Indiana in 1977 after serving his country for 25 years. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, he worked at the Pendleton State Reformatory as a case manager for the next 15 years.

George and Maureen moved to Syracuse, Utah five years ago, to be close to their daughter and son-in-law.

He leaves behind his wife, Maureen; eldest daughter, Kathy (Stephen) Thomas of Syracuse, Utah; daughter Lorree (Jay) Jarvis of Navarre, Fla, and their children, Phillip Huff and Emily Jarvis; daughter, Karen (Larry) Meyne of Grand Prairie, Texas and their children, Rachel and Eric; and son Mark Hexamer of Anderson IN. He also leaves behind brother, Bill Hexamer of Anderson; brother and sister-in-law, Gloria and Pat Matney of Anderson and sister, Jeannene Wood of English, Indiana.
