When George married Lorene Offutt Shepherd he instantly became "daddy" to three little girls. Lorene was the widow of Loren Oliver Shepherd who was killed in WW II.

The new daughters were Gloria Sue Shepherd, Sherry Lee Shepherd, and Melanie Jane Shepherd.

Then George and Lorene added two of their own, George Wayne Lamp, Jr and Lisa Ann Lamp.
