Daleville- Edwin A. Day, 66, Daleville, died August 25, 2005 at Renaissance Rehabilitaion Center- Muncie after an extended illness.
He was born January 6, 1939 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in Daleville, Indiana. He lived in the Anderson Daleville area all of his life.
He retired in 1992 from Delco Remy Division of General Motors.
He was a Pendelton High School graduate.
He was a member of the Middletown Masonic Lounge #271 F.&A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Temple Shrine and Madison County Shrine Club. He enjoyed golf and Aeronautics.
He is survived by his daughter, Denise (Kent) Freeman of Yorktown; his mother, Margaret Day Hartley of Anderson; two brothers, Corwin Day of Anderson, and Michael (Kay) Day of Anderson; one sister, Phyllis (Claude) Downham of Anderson; two step-sisters; Judy (Jerry) Faucett of Anderson, and Karen (Richard) Towner of North Carolina. Two Grandchildren; Ashton Freeman and Laci Freeman of Yorktown. Several nieces and nephews and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta (Pederson) Day in 1994; son, Darren Day in January of 2005; father Paul Day; step-father Gerald 'Pete' Hartley.
Services will be Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at 1:00 p.m., at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, with the Rev. Gary McManus officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Daleville.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2005 at the funeral home, south chapel. Masonic Service will be held at 6:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or New Hope Hospice.
