Ed was a United States Navy veteran. He worked for the New Jersey Department of Transportation where he served as a certified tax assessor for Egg Harbor Township, Linwood and Northfield. He was later appointed Atlantic County Tax Assessor.
An Absecon resident for the past 40 years,he was a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Absecon.
Survivors include his wife, Marie (Roland) Schmincke; two sons, Edward G Schmincke and David J. Schmincke; six daughters, Jeanne M. Jackson, Jill F Willmann, Janet L. Revelle, June E. Carrol, Julie A Conger and Jackie R. Coulter; a sister, Dorothy McCormick and ten grandsons.
A Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Graveside services will be private.
