.........JOSEPH YANDEAU
Joseph Yandeau died suddenly last Thursday evening at his residence on Cascade Avenue. He had been in failing health and suffered from heart disease for some time, but was not confined to the house.
Mr. Yandeau was a son of Joseph and Almelia Yandeau and was born in the town of Denmark, this county, October 2 1859. In early manhood he came to Lowville and for several years was engineer at the Haberer furniture factory; later night watchman at the Cold Storage Plant.
He was a faithful employee,and always enjoyed the respect of the community. Mr. Yandeau was a charter "member" of Lowville Lodge I.O.O.F., and also a member of Lowville Grange. Thirty-three years ago he was united in marriage with Cornella Van Wagoner, of Lowville who survives with one daughter and two sons, Mrs. Howard Holt and George Yandeau, of Lowville and Lewis Yandeau, of Rochester.
Two brothers also survive, George Yandeau, of Denver, Colorado, and John Yandeau, of Watertown. The funeral service, under the direction of Lowville Lodge of Odd Fellows, was held Sunday afternoon from the Methodist church, Rev. S.W. Brown officiating; Interment at Rural Cemetery.
