Leon Blandford, 86, died at 1:10 a.m., Monday, April 24, at Mary Immaculate Hospital, where he was admitted a short time before. He was a resident at Elliott's Rest Home in Springfield and was a native of Washington County. His wife, Mrs. Nell Carrico Blandford, died August 26, 1971. Funeral mass was said at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Rose with burial in St. Rose Cemetery. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert Young, Springfield, and Mrs. Jess B. Alred of Clawson, Michigan; two sons, William Blandford, Lebanon, and Martin Blandford, of Springfield; 19 grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren. The body rested at Hale & Polin Funeral Home in Springfield.
