Obituary for Georgia Smith Greene
Georgia Smith Greene, 89, of Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Wexford House, surrounded by family and friends.

Georgia was of the Baptist faith and was a godly woman. She retired from Kingsport Press in 1973. Georgia loved to eat with family and friends and she especially loved apple butter. She made friends everywhere she went and loved to ride around.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Greene; parents, Lee J. and Martha Smith; brother, Guyan R. Smith; sisters, L. Maude Smith and Susie K. Brumley; and niece, Eula R. Jackson.

Surviving are two stepdaughters, Mary Evelyn Kirkpatrick, Rogersville, and Billie Jean Aulds and husband Charlie, Cleveland, TN; two step-granddaughters, Nancy Thomas and husband Whit, Rogersville, and Cynthia Christian and husband Michael, Houston, TX; step-grandson, Craig Kirkpatrick and wife Judy, Rogersville; two special nieces Mildred L. Bruner and husband William C. Bruner deceased, and Jean Pinson and husband Troy; other nieces and nephews, Jack, Howard, Robert, and Jerry Brumley, Ruby and Harold Light, Helen Hammonds, Carolyn Hammonds, Billy and Connie Smith, and Jimmy and Mary Ruth Hayes; several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.

Special thanks to all her "angels" at the Wexford House and Amedisys Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch. Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the Fall Branch Chapel with Rev. Victor Wallace and Rev. Carl Strickler officiating.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Fall Branch Cemetery. Family members will serve as honorary pallbearers.
