Lillian Glen Runions was called "Lelia". She was third of eight children of Frank Runions and Etta Morris. Lelia was born May 12, 1909 around the mountain on Fletcher Mountain, Bluff City, Giles Co, Virginia. Her parents moved from Giles Co to Maybeury, McDowell Co, West Virginia following work which was around the coal mines. Her father was a good carpenter as well as a good farmer. At age 16 Lelia married May 26, 1925 in Ashland (Cheokee), West Virginia to Vaught Given Hawks, son of William Walter Hawks and Mary Divonia Bailey. Lelia and Vaught Hawks are buried in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, Mercer Co, West Virginia.
