Mrs. Edna "Maw" Williams Nuckles, 70, born on July 18, 1929 in Brookston, Texas, the daughter of Elmer C. and Edna Dickenson Williams. Mrs. Nuckles departed this life at her home with her daughters Phyllis Kaye Lunsford and Shirley Nuckles at her side as she drew her last breath in Dumas, Arkansas on July 28, 1999. She is preceeded in death by her husband, William Gordon Nuckles, a WWII veteran that died in 1965. She had five children, James Nuckles [deceased], Sammy Nuckles, Jerry Nuckles [deceased], Shirley Nuckles, and Phyllis Kaye Lunsford. She had several brothers and sisters all are deceased except for her brother Harry Williams. She was a homemaker, and babysat many children over her lifetime. She was a active faithful member of her beloved Church, Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Dumas, Arkansas. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years and participated in the Ladies Auxilary. Brothers John Mann and present Pastor Julius Carter both served and officiated her going home service at Calvary Church. She is sorely missed and is buried next to her husband 'Sookie' as he was lovingly nicknamed by all that knew him. They are buried at Mulberry Cemetery near England, Arkansas. *Gone but not forgotton* + + +
