Paul R. "Dick" Elter, 77, of Sara Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle, and formerly of Nyesville Road, Chambersburg, died at 4:20 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, in Sara Todd Memorial Home following a short illness.

Born Aug. 8, 1926, in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Carl E. and Ruth Pollak Elter.

Mr. Elter was a member of First Lutheran Church, Chambersburg.

He had worked for a number of years as a plumber for Kottcamp Construction in Chambersburg.

Surviving are his wife, Julia I. Heller Elter, whom he married Aug. 15, 1952; a son, Roger A. (husband of Lynne N.) Immell II of Carlisle; two granddaughters, Leslie Immell of Carney, Md., and Laura Natalie Immell of Carlisle; a brother, Carl E. "Kirby" Jr. of Chambersburg; and two sisters, Virginia Lader of Chambersburg and Pauline Leedy of Waynesboro.

Burial will be Saturday in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.
