Christina Sophia Buhr, beloved wife of Fred Buhr, passed away at her home 715 South Elm Street at 12:40 p.m., Sunday, November 24, 1929 after a long and lingering illness at the age of 45 years, 4 months and 1 day.

Christina Sophia Buhr, nee Kopp was the fourth oldest child of Fritz Kopp and his wife, Anna, nee Amelung, and was born at Washington Mo., on July 23, 1884. On November 4, 1908 she entered the holy bonds of matrimony with Fred Buhr and this union was blessed with seven children all of whom survive.

Mrs. Buhr was a member of the Christian Mothers' Society to which she gave unselfishly of her time and energy. A devoted husband and beloved children are bereft of a loving wife and mother whose amiable character endeared her to all who knew her and will be sadly missed both in the home and community.

She leaves to mourn her deeply bereaved husband, four daughters Anna, wife of Alphonse Koester, Clara, Florence and Dorothy; three sons, Elmer, Wilfred and Melvin Buhr all of Washington; her aged father, four brothers and two sisters.

The funeral services were held Wednesday morning, November 27 1929 at 8:45 o'clock at the residence, 715 South Elm Street and at 9:00 o'clock in the St. Francis Borgia Church. Interment took place in the Church cemetery.
