Margaret L. "Peggy" Browning, 81, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Lima, died at 4:41 p.m. Dec. 20, 2010, at St. Rita's Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 7, 1929, in New Philadelphia to Homer E. and Mary Mast Davidson, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 2, 1946, she married Dr. Norman Browning Jr., who died Nov. 4, 2007.

Mrs. Browning had been part owner and manager of Cut Above for several years. She was chairwoman of Christian Women's Club, a member of Arbutus Club (book club) and a volunteer at St. Rita's Medical Center for several years. She was active with the United Service Organization during and after World War II. She enjoyed spending time with family and especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughters. She loved having her family around her during the Christmas holidays and would be overjoyed that everyone had gathered together to celebrate her life with the birth of our Lord.

Survivors include two sons, Steven (Barbara) Browning, of Stamford, Conn., and Rodney (Misty) Browning, of West Chester; two daughters, Linda (Lloyd) Martin, of Austin, Texas, and Patricia (Robert) Johns, of Elida; a sister, Marlene (Dwight) Johnson, of Smithville; 11 grandchildren, Amanda (John) Dicristofalo, Jennifer Musser, Sarah (Chad) Tobin, Seth Martin, Benjamin (Ritika Arora) Browning, Rebekah Browning, Ian (Jessica) Hayes, Melissa (Micah) Hollinger, Dillon Browning, Maggie Browning and Jacob Browning; and nine great-granddaughters, Taylor and Logan Dicristofalo, Alyssa Gentry, Sonali Browning, Olivia and Ailee Hayes, and Ava, Gwyneth and Gracelynn Hollinger.
