Mrs. Monie Mae Mahurin, 84, of Dumas, Arkansas, died Wednesday, August 2, 1995, at Delta Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 26, 1911 at Oden, Arkansas and was a daughter of the late Lee and Mamie Hickey.

Mrs. Monie Mae was a loyal member of the First Baptist Church of Dumas, Arkansas, Eastern Star, Order of the Amarantha, and Home Demonstration Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence J. Mahurin.

Survivors include three daughters; Janet Wilson of Monroe, Louisiana, Lois Brantley of McGehee, Arkansas, and Carolyn Ballard of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; four brothers, Newton Hickey of Cleveland, Ohio, James Hickey of Hazen, Arkansas, Ronald Hickey of Longview, Texas, Mr. Washington and a sister, Madison Hickey of Ashberry, California; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. [ At time of her death in 1995]

Graveside services were held Friday afternoon at the Walnut Lake Cemetery at Pickens, Arkansas; with the Reverend Neil Bennett officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home of Dumas, Arkansas.

Monie Mae Hickey (Mahurin) was the only female child born to her parents. Her six brothers were PERCY HEROLD HICKEY (1908-1993) & CHESTER OLIVER HICKEY (1913-1973) & MADISON LEE HICKEY (1919-1997) & RONALD ASA HICKEY (1915-2007) & JAMES CALVIN HICKEY (1924-2005) & GRANVILLE NEWTON HICKEY (1929-2020.)
