Obituary:

Former Attorney, Author Dead at 90.

Myron David Orr, 90, well-known former Caro attorney and author of five books died at Alpena General Hospital Tuesday, December 16.

A memorial service was held Friday, December 19 at 11 a.m. at the Collon Funeral Home under the auspices of Mt. Moriah Lodge #226 F & A.M. and the Theron Atwood Post of the American Legion. Burial was in the Almer Cemetery.

Mr. Orr lived at Ossineke, Michigan at the time of his death.

He was born in Almer Township on May 28, 1896 and lived in Caro and New York City. He made his home in Ossineke since 1958.

Mr. Orr was an atorney. He graduated from Detroit College of Law in 1928. He was a member of the Michigan Bar Association and had a law practice in Caro for a number of years.

He was probably more widely known as author of five books . . .Cathedral in the Pines, Citadel of the Lakes, which sold over two million copies, White Gold, Mission to Mackinaw, and The Outlander.

Mr. Orr was a member of Authors Guild, Inc., Mt. Moriah Lodge #226 F. & A.M., Royal Arch Masons, Chapter #96, Kedron Chapter # 33 of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Rotary Club.

He was a captain in the United States Marine Corps and served in both World War I and World War II. He was a member of Theron Atwood Post # 7 of the American Legion, Caro, VFW Post # 2496 in Alpena, and the Marine Corps League of Alpena.

He married Thelma Warner in Caro on May 8, 1930. She predeceased him February 26, 1978. Also preceding him in death were a grandson, Stephen, on June 30, 1978; and two brothers, Herbert P. Orr and Robert Orr.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Pamela (Sally) Fry of Chicago, Illinois, a granddaughter, Mrs. John (Kimberly) Clark of Dunoon, Scotland, and two great-grandchildren, John Frederick Clark III and Ashley Brook Clark.
