JOHN J. ENTWHISTLE, 89, former Ustick supervisor, passed away Monday afternoon at the farm home in Ustick township following an illness of one week. Rites will be conducted at the Reynolds funeral home in Morrison at 2 p.m. Wednesday and committal will be in the Cottonwood cemetery.

Mr. Entwhistle was born in Jo Daviess county, March 20, 1857, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Entwhistle. He was reared there and in Whiteside county. He married Orena M. Goff on Feb 20, 1879 and she passed away Oct 1, 1940. Besides serving his township for 16 years as supervisor, he held other offices in the township. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Myron Dillenbeck, Morrison, Mrs. Earl C. Hodge, Rock Falls, and Mrs. Charles P. Dodge, Holcomb; one son, Arthur Entwhistle, Morrison, one brother, George; one sister, Mrs. William Abbott; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ellsworth, and three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Odin, Miss Nellie Entwhistle and Miss Hannah Entwhistle.

Funeral Notice: Funeral services for John Entwhistle, 89, who died at his home in Ustick township Monday afternoon after a week's illness following a stroke, were held Wednesdeay in the Reynolds funeral home at 2 p.m. He had been in failing health for almost two years. The Rev. C. H. Becker, pastor of the First Presbyterian church officiated and burial was in the family plot in Cottonwood cemetery. Friends who served as casket bearers are Peter Aggen, Louis A. Abbott, John Brackemeyer, Ward Gridley, Christ Rick and Sam A. Patterson. The floral tributes were taken care of by Mrs. Peter Aggen and Mrs. L. A. Abbott. Among those from out of town attending the funeral were Mrs. Dorothy Knauff and Miss Josephine Abbot of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Abbott of Downers Grove, Mrs. Eva Goff and Mr. and Mrs. Lottie of Spencer, Ia., Roy Jamison of Clinton, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jaris of Kings, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. C. P.
