Thomas D. Farrow, Sr., age 70, of Bear, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2011. He was the husband of Virginia Garrett Farrow, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.
He was the only child of the late Thomas B. and Mary Rebecca Warren Farrow.
Growing up, Thomas attended Lore, Bayard, and then graduated from Conrad High School in 1959. After graduation, he joined the Coast Guard Reserves.
He retired from DuPont after 33 years of service and currently worked as a painter with the Colonial School District. Tom owned Ginway Kennels with his wife Ginger for 37 years. He was a member of Christ Church in Delaware City, First and Central Presbyterian Church, and the Masonic Hiram Lodge No. 25 in Newark.
Thomas enjoyed being outdoors and loved fishing, boating, crabbing, and hunting. Most importantly, he loved being with his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
In addition to his wife, Thomas will be dearly missed by his children, Jim Mansfield (Susan), Debbie Caldwell (Tom), John Paul Mansfield (Chris), Debbie Cornette (Paul), Melissa MacNeill (Rich), Thomas Farrow II, Timothy Farrow, and Christopher (Kit) Farrow; grandchildren, Jason, Christina, Jackie, Samantha, Garrett, Nichole, Lindy, Gabriel, Krystina, Rich Jr., and Thomas III; and great grandchildren, Natalya, Jason Jr., Alexandria, Jadelyn, Rachel, Caitlyn, Jordan, and John Jr.
You are invited to attend Thomas' viewing on Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 6-8 pm at the Beeson Funeral Home of Newark, 2053 Pulaski Hwy, Newark, DE 19702 and again on Monday from 10-11 am. His service will follow at 11 am. Interment will be held at St. George's Cemetery.
