She was born in Arkansas, daughter of the late Luke Hartwell Garrett and Sarah Almyra Wilson Garrett. She was married to Murray Tucker Hafford. They had one child, a son named John Lamar Hafford. Both her son and husband predeceased her.
She spent most of her adult life in Riverhead, Lond Island, New York. She also lived for a time in Michigan after her husband died. She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by four sisters, Sophia Garrett and Ruth Woodruff of Star City, Arkansas; Laura Houston of Michigan and Bessie Hardin of Waterville. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Mrs. Gayle Lawrence (Charles) of Troy, New York; John Hafford (Gwen) of Avon Park, Florida; and Maridale Hafford of Michigan.
Calling hours at the Kloster Funeral Home, 210 Main Street in Waterville, New York will be on Monday evening from 7 - 9 PM. The funeral will be on Wednesday at the Griffin Funeral Home in Star City, Arkansas.
