US Navy Peacetime Medal of Honor Recipient. He entered the US Navy in California and served as a Carpenter's Mate Second Class. His citation reads: "Serving on board the USS Bennington for extra ordinary heroism displayed at the time of the explosion of that vessel at San Diego, Cal. 21 July 1905". His government marker is inscribed as Geo. F. Rock.
