Virgie C. Merritt, 74, of Xenia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on May 5, 2010. She was born February 29, 1936, in Portsmouth, OH, the daughter of Samuel and Virgie Hackworth Spradlin. She attended Fellowship Tabernacle Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, John T. Merritt, whom she married, January 31, 1957, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Keith (Janet) Merritt, and Robert Merritt, and by a granddaughter, Rebekah Merritt, all of Xenia. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Hazel Davis and Amanda Spencer, and by seven brothers, Gaylord Spradlin, Willard Spradlin, Luther Spradlin, Bufford Spradlin, Paul Spradlin, Powell Spradlin, and Lawrence Spradlin. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 10am, Monday, May 10, 2010, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor Jim Stepp officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Sunday. Burial will be in Silvercreek Cemetery, Jamestown. Contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, P. O.
