SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Mrs. Knute Rockne, widow of Notre Dame's famed coach, died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Mrs. Rockne, in her middle sixties, entered the hospital two weeks ago at which time it was stated she was suffering from "comlications."
Her husband, who was head football coach at Notre Dame from 1918 through 1930, was killed in a plane crash, March 31, 1931.
The Rocknes met at a summer resort in Cedar Point, Ohio, and were married in 1915. Mrs. Rockne was born Bonnie Skiles in Kenton, Ohio.
She is survived by four children, Mary Jeanne and Bill who lived with Mrs. Rockne in South Bend, Knute Jr., of Chicago, and Jacke Rockne of South Bend. She also left a half-sister, three half-brothers and five grandchildren.
Funeral plans were not announced immediately.
