Ruby May Belford, 91 loving wife, mother and grandmother died peacefully at her home February 15, 2010 surrounded by her loving family.
Ruby began her life in Evangeline Township, Charlevoix County, August 22, 1918, the daughter of Henry and Essie Fitzpatrick. She married Eugene on August 22, 1940. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2009.
Ruby's whole life was devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed many years as an Avon representative and loved gardening, doing crossword puzzles, and reading. Ruby especially enjoyed feeding and watching the birds. Ruby will always be remembered for her Irish wit and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Bob (Marylu) Fitzpatrick, Gerald (Vivian) Belford, Charlotte (Dale) Looze, Colleen (Allen) Ingalls, Terry (Penny) Belford, Claudette (Earl) Elder, Jeff (Nancy) Belford, Cindy (Tony) Lamacchia, and Bridget (Larry) Peck ; 31 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers and 2 sisters; son Collins; and grandsons, Jarred and Wyett.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, February 18, at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City. The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 19 at St. Matthews Church in Boyne City. The Rev. David Behling will officiate.
The family requests memorial donations be directed to Boyne Area Free Clinic or Hospice of Little Traverse Bay.
